Southwark Cathedral is situated on the south bank of the River Thames close to London Bridge. It is surrounded by railway lines and buildings, including the historic Borough Market. The small churchyard on the south side of the Cathedral is a small oasis of calm and is a favorite lunch-time resting place for local office workers.
